What is Live-in End-of-life care?

Live-in end-of-life care is a care service that helps and supports people with a life-limiting illness such as cancer, advanced-stage of dementia, motor neuron disease, etc. who require around-the-clock care. The service can involve personal care, companionship, administering medications, preparing meals and everything you or your loved ones need to feel fulfilled and to ensure you a better quality of life, and as much independence as possible in the comfort of your own home.

Live-in End-of-life care provides comfortable and dignified physical and emotional support as you or your loved ones reach the end of life.

At Alcedo Care, we aim to provide personalised live-in end-of-life care plans based on your needs and requirements so that you can receive end-of-life care (sometimes called hospice care) in the place you feel most comfortable and safe as you approach the end of your life, at home.  Your live-in carer will live together with you so that you can receive the care you require, whenever you need it.

Importance of live-in end-of-life care

Even though it is upsetting to know you or your loved ones don’t have much time left, you should live it to the fullest while receiving specialised and bespoke care. Our live-in carer will help make your final months, weeks and days as comfortable and dignified as possible and ensure that all your needs are taken care of throughout the day so that you can spend more quality time with your family and live your life in your way as much as your health allows you to.

On that note, your dedicated, compassionate and one-to-one 24-hour carer will help and support you along the way, taking out the stress and anxiety from you and your family and ensuring that you:

  • Receive the best quality of care to have a peaceful end-of-life journey.
  • Continue to live in the familiar surroundings of your own home
  • Remain independent and live with dignity.
  • Your choices and wishes are granted.
  • Closer to family and friends, and not feeling isolated from them.
  • Stress and anxiety free of moving away from your home, family and friends.
  • Emotional support not only to you but your family too

Our live-in end-of-life care service can be put in place quickly and is always tailored to your individual and unique needs, considering your symptoms, psychological well-being, social requirements or spiritual needs.
